Tim Van den Abeele
Tim Van den Abeele works as an illustrator and art teacher at KASK, Ghent. His images accompany books that challenge the speed of our times.
To illustrate means to empathize with the story and to search for suitable techniques while purifying lines and colours. Every book must be complete and I find satisfaction whenever my illustrations transmit a sense of vulnerability. – Tim Van den Abeele –
For Van den Abeele illustrations are translations of emotions, a way to transform experience into drawings. For this purpose he uses almost exclusively monotypes which he overlays one another as old lithographies would, creating the emotional texture he seeks. Tim finds inspiration in everyday life; houses, trees and people he meets.
